The Brewery
We have created, in the Tudor Brewery, a selection of new local beers which should appeal to residents and visitors alike and are a part of the wider UK food and drink renaissance.
We established the brewery in 2007 at the Kings Arms, Abergavenny, continuing a century old tradition of local beer making.
The Tudor name is taken from Tudor Gate, the medieval town entrance, once sitednext to the brewery.
Our beers are named after local hills.
We aim to serve the populace with small, beautifully-formed, Craft Ales.
- Tudor brewery use only the finest Warmister Maltings & Goldings Hops
- This is where the process starts. In the mash tun, the wort is produced
- Quality control checks are done at all stages of the process
- The Copper is used to boil the wort. This is the point where the Hops are added
- The fermentation vessel is the final process. This is where the yeast is added to produce the alcohol
- When the fermentation process is complete the beer is transferred into casks. It is conditioned for 5 days in a temperature controlled room
- The brewing room is sterilised after each brew in preparation to repeat the brewing process.
Our 2 barrel micro brewery is sited at the Kings Arms Inn on Tudor Street, Abergavenny. The brewery can be viewed from within the Inn. The 6 barrel brewery is located close by on Merthyr Road, Abergavenny.
